What is Paintball?
Paintball is a sport where a players attempt to eliminate opposing players by "marking" them with paintballs (food grade food colour in a gelatin shell) fired from compress air powered "paintball markers".
You could say Paintball is just the adult version of running around your backyard yelling "bang, bang" at each other.
Does Paintball hurt?
Honestly, sometimes yes.
It depends on where it hits and whether it breaks or not (balls that just bounce off tend to be felt more). All paintball markers are required to shoot under the legal limit of 300 feet per second and we at Gords Urban Paintball have lowered the speeds further and issued plated protective vests to ensure an enjoyable paintball experience. Sometimes you won’t even notice. But even when a shot does hurt, it’s usually just a quick sting.
We even offer groin and neck protection for the more cautious player.
What do I need to bring?
On the day all you need is enclosed footwear, your driver license (or other form of photo id) and a sense of adventure.
Also to note, if we suspect that you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, we cannot let you play, Even if it's only one quick drink in the carpark. We have to keep a zero tolerance to Alcohol.
How many paintballs will i use?
That all depends on the player and the manner in which you play. Some players can last for 3 hours with only a few paintballs. Some use much more. We suggest that if there are 20 players or more on field then you will probaly use about 500 paintballs. Our field records is currently at 2500 paintball in the one session, but lets face it... he was trigger happy.
What is the minimum age to play paintball?
In Queensland you must be at least 15 years old to play paintball.
If you are over 15 years but still under 18 years you need a parent or guardian to sign our indemnity form on your behalf. These forms can be emailed to you if you request them so they can be signed prior to arriving on the day.
What game types do you offer?
What game types do you want?? Ask us and we will endeavour to tailor the session to your wishes.
Standard games include capture the flag, team eleminations, VIP escort, hold this postion, object retrieval, outbreak, and "everyman for themselves"
We can arrange, simple fun games where you have as many "lives" as you wish or more tactical games with multiple objectives and extraction points and only one "life" per game.
Usually paintball is a team based game but we can arrange everyone for themselves to realy push the field and yourselves to your paintballing limits.
I have a criminal history... Can i play paintball?
Maybe...
If you have been disqualifed under the weopons act, or
if you are subject to a current DVO, or
on parole or suspended sentence with conditions that state otherwise,
You are not legally permitted to be in possesion of a firearm.
If you have a past history that was been sentenced and served, and have no conditions stating that you cannot possess a firearm then yes you can.
